Please look at the books and films reviewed in the past to get a good idea of what we review.?? Created exclusively to present voices that diverge from conventional media, or fall between the pages of traditional publishing.? The Single Hound seeks to transform criticism into art, publish the best known and unknown writers of this generation, accommodate the versatile voices of poets, people, and places, feature literature, stories, articles, reviews, and profiles, merge a contemporary literary sensibility with a progressively postmodern vibe, and produce a literary journal overflowing with content that is on the cusp, but not over-the-edge.? The editor’s goal is to connect artists and readers by amalgamating everything from poetry to politics, in a manner inclusive enough to persuade unity.? Even though some of the opinions expressed in the journal may be divergent and disharmonious, the editor will work to ensure the work presented expands upon its own discussion, rather than articulate itself as the final word. When an artist is published, he or she is considered an active contributor in a unified purpose of sharing and educating.? Indeed, The Single Hound strives to join people in a mutual celebration of story, art, life, and food.? More importantly, The Single Hound has a fundamental purpose of challenging assumptions and dissembling clichés–Starving Artists no longer embraces the quixotic notion of artists who suffer psychologically and physically for their art, but rather, the phrase now represents artists who are hungry for life and enjoy sharing good food with others.? Likewise, Howl is no longer confined to beatnik ideologies of a dissident generation, but represents a new artistic way of life that predicates itself on peace being a better path than revolution.
What type of submissions you are looking for: It is best to read what we have published before to get a better idea of whether or not your work is a good fit for the journal.
