Griffith REVIEW

Posted on April 23, 2023April 25, 2023 by Every Writer

    Griffith REVIEW

    Website:

    www.griffithreview.com/

    From the Editor

Griffith REVIEW celebrates good writing and promotes public debate. It steps back from the issues of the day and gives writers the space to grow on the page. Essays reflect on the underlying significance of events and trends, explain the details that get lost in the news and examine the unintended consequences of public policy. Griffith REVIEW is edited by Julianne Schultz.

    From the site:

Griffith Review is a literary and current affairs journal that offers fresh takes on big ideas. Each edition responds to a loose theme and features essays, short fiction, conversations, poetry and visual art by emerging and established creatives from Australia and overseas.

    Submissions

Griffith REVIEW is written with intelligent, well-informed and curious readers in mind. Each edition of Griffith REVIEW explores a topical theme from a number of different points of view, with writing from a range of genres. The range is deliberately wide and is designed to provide readers with a number of points of entry to the subject?the aim is to create an informed, respectful conversation in each edition.? We are looking for reportage, essay, memoir, fiction and poetry submissions that are original, insightful, well-researched, thoughtful, vivid and engaging and focus on the theme being explored within that particular edition.?

    From the site:

Non-fiction call-outs are open four times a year and invite full submissions in response to a loose edition theme.
Fiction call-outs are open four times a year and invite full submissions for short fiction on any subject (short fiction doesn’t need to align with edition themes).
Poetry call-outs are open four times a year and invite full submissions for poetry on any subject (poetry doesn’t need to align with edition themes).
We occasionally open call outs for specific projects such as the Griffith Review Emerging Voices competition.
