From the Editor
Silent Auctions is an online literary and art magazine with an emphasis on authenticity and experimentation. We celebrate and encourage unconventional prose, fiction, poetry, comics and cartoons. We also publish art (e.g. illustrations, collages, etc.) and animated shorts on our website. We embrace the fringe, the dark, the alt, the irreverent, the goofy, and the strange. We launched the online magazine in April of 2019 and periodically publish and distribute print issues with selected works from the website. We are primarily an online rolling publication.
We are looking for bold submitters, people who don’t want to compromise their art to adhere to an idea of ‘likability.’ We want artists and writers who will stand by their creative convictions, who believe in their artistic visions despite how divergent they may seem. We want to widen the notion of ‘literary’ by allowing genres such as ‘sci-fi’ to exist beside work more readily and widely deemed ‘acceptable’ in the landscape of literature. We will not succumb or cater to the elitism that is often regarded as fundamental in the literary world. We take poetry submissions, fiction submissions, comic submissions, cartoon submissions, illustration submissions, animated-shorts (largely stop-motion) submissions and will consider category and series pitches as well. Please see our submission guidelines at silentauctionsmagazine.com/submit for more details.
