    From the Editor

The Indianola Review, based out of the Midwest, is a new quarterly literary journal featuring the best short fiction and poetry we can possibly get our hands on. Our mission is simple. We are determined to provide a writer-friendly experience, which includes paying our contributors for their amazing work, maintaining blazing fast response times, and offering easy-to-use interface, including free submissions in our standard categories on Submittable. We are firm believers that literary fiction can extend beyond traditional genre constraints, though we acknowledge that genre fiction must be well-written and meticulously crafted to be seriously considered—we apply the conventions of literary fiction, such as character development and arc, plot structure and strong voice, to all works of fiction we receive. If it is genre and it is great, we will consider it literary enough for us, snobs be damned. Our poetry need to be fresh, compelling, and technically strong. We are currently open to submissions of cover artwork for our debut issue, as well as contributions to a neat, open-ended “Miscellaneous” category for anything that we might get a kick out of printing. We accept submissions year round and publish in March, June, September, and December.

    Submissions

Short Fiction: up to 6,000 words in length.
Flash Fiction:up to 1,000 per piece; 1-3 pieces in a single file, .
Poetry: 3-5 pieces in a single file
    Cover Artwork
Miscellaneous: photos, random pieces that pique our curiosity will be considered.

You accepted my poem “Unsound Conversation” in December 2016. But I can’t find the volume or issue number. Could you please find that info for me? (I’m not even sure if it’s still extant – but I still need to acknowledge, ofc, if it did publish it.) Thanks!
