The Slag Review

    From the Publisher

The Slag Review is a small, confused group of creators invested in the process of expression through art, fully understanding that it may be a long and dangerous one. In this way, we hope to create a haven for talented voices in all ranges of experience.

We create a quarterly publication in print and online out of our humble home in Connecticut. We have a particular interest in metallurgy, partly because the transformative process relates directly to the artistic process, and partly because it’s not that difficult to make a forge out of a coffee can. We may or may not have been endangering ourselves in that way for some time now. We do not ask that you do the same, simply that you take on challenges and artistic expression with the same courage.

    Submissions

We seek a wide range of submissions, including but not limited to:
    – Fiction (5,000 words or less)
    – Novel excerpts (5,000 words or less)
    – Flash fiction (1,000 words or less)
    – Poetry (up to 5 pieces)
    – Prose (5,000 words or less)
    – Creative Nonfiction/Essays (5,000 words or less)
    – Metallurgy stories (5,000 words or less)
    – Art work, metal work, photography (preferably submitted in .jpeg or PDF format)

    Upcoming

Issue 3 is in the works! Submit your work by December 23rd, 2016 – and be prepared for the grand release in January, 2017. We host quarterly release parties with every issue in our hometown of Stafford Springs, CT.
