    From the Editor

For 27 years, Sensations Magazine has been a major player among independent, non-grant-funded publications that arose out of the “desktop publishing revolution” of the late 1980s. Publishing poetry, fiction, and footnoted research articles, the publication carved a unique niche in American letters. We’ve published writers, artists, and photographers from 42 states and from 5 of the 7 continents. Two of our issues are over 300 pages long. We’re a three-time winner in the national American Literary Magazine Awards (1994-96), and I received a 2009 New Jersey State Jefferson Award for Public Service for my work associated with the publication, along with the 2011 Dwyer Award for Journalism in New Jersey History for my microfilm history research that led to some of the published research. Sensations Magazine also was rare in that it stayed in full 8-1/2 x 11 page format (true magazine size), typically with one poem per 8-1/2 x 11 page, and fiction published in two columns of 10 pt type per page. Among our research activities, we’re best known for the serialized 1990-1999 “Rediscovering America in Poetry Research Series” – the first and most comprehensive collection of American poetry from 1565-1700 ever put into print, featuring material written in what has become the continental United States of America. We are currently offering subscriptions that include Silver Anniversary Reprintings of past issues with the Rediscovering series – anyone interested in taking a subscription is welcome to send me their current regular mail address to me at the “Contact” button on our website. We do not share nor sell addresses.
