Information about your publication |
After Hours is a semi-annual literary magazine publishing poetry, fiction, art, and photography from Chicago area writers and artists (this includes Chicago expats). The magazine was launched in June of 2000 and has published consistently twice per year since then featuring such Chicago writers as Stuart Dybek, Rane Arroyo, Marc Smith, Cin Sallach, Charlie Newman, Norbert Blei, and many other notables. We believe that the “Chicago” voice, though that can be as diverse as our city, carries the honesty and individuality of jazz or blues music. |
What type of submissions are you looking for? |
We are open to all styles, but our editorial tastes do not lean toward the overly experimental. We are most interested in new and/or established voices filled with passion and sincerity. |
I have written a short original article on the work of emerging Detroit Artist Felicia Forte. Here is the introduction.
“Immerse yourself in the work of a talented Detroit artist. A virtuoso dynamically projecting representational paintings into the realm of contemplative art.”
I am happy for you to publish it.
