    From the Editor

We have been online since 1995, and come out once a month. We publish at least a dozen book reviews, articles, readings, and poems in each issue. We are very interested in new poetry — in fact, this fall (2015) we will be publishing THE VIVISECTION MAMBO: 125 Poems of the New Neo-Realist School — an anthology of our most favored poems from the last twenty years.

We are always on the lookout for reviewers, people who are unafraid to irritate and needle those who deserve to be lambasted, but, at the same time, seek out the honest and true literary effort.

Our predecessor magazine, “The Fessenden Review” bemused literary America and was the subject of articles by media writers at The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and on National Public Radio — among others.

We are keen on not putting readers to sleep. We are also keen on making our on-line presence scintillating — and so use ancient (and beautiful) graphics to make what we publish outstanding, if not irritating, in every way. We put out a hard copy edition of the Best of RALPH several times a year, called THE FOLIO.

    Submissions

We are looking for review, articles, and readings that will shake up our readers in a positive way. We are very eager to get new poets who are willing to break the mold, offer poetry to is meaningful, rich, contained, lively.

Anyone who wants to send us material — to lolitalark@yahoo.com — should spend an hour or so with any of our 260 issues online to get a feeling for what we are about, and why we are about it. it. We only have one fear: the worry that a reader will come away from our pages yawning. This is a no-no, and anyone who sends us something that wakes US up will likely find a home for it.

We also accept books of poetry — publication date unimportant — for review and possible excerpts to be placed in our poetry section.

    Upcoming

When our new book of poetry — THE VIVISECTION MAMBO: 125 POEMS OF THE NEW NEO-REALIST SCHOOL — hits the stands at the end of the year, we will be inviting new writers to submit poems to be included in the proximate volume of poems (2016-2017).
