Seven Story Magazine is one of two subsidiary magazines under Seven Story Publishing, an online publishing company dedicated to promoting and supporting authors in reaching their desired audiences. We focus on Sci-fi, Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, and horror. We accept submissions all year round and post new author content daily. We also post book reviews, author interviews, and insightful content pertaining to helping writers get better at their craft. Seven Story Magazine is generally the more popular one as most authors tend to lean toward Dark Fantasy and Horror as they are more adaptable to shorter forms of writing. Our word count limit for submissions is 2000- 10,000 words (occasionally we’ll accept a story that’s 11 or 12k words) and we do our best to respond to all inquiries as promptly as possible. This magazine is for those who write high fantasy, epic fantasy, YA, Middle Grade, and all other forms of the genre. The word count limit for this one is about the same as Seven Story Magazine but is likely to be increased due to the nature of the fantasy genre. Wrising Writers Magazine also accepts submissions all year round and publishes new author content daily. Wrising Writers Magazine is also complemented with other services such as book reviews, author interviews, and expansive media promotion across all our platforms which are constantly increasing as we strive to create more spaces for authors to show off their stories. Seven Story Publishing as a whole does not yet pay authors; however, we believe every author should be paid for their work in one way or another and are currently working toward publishing physical issues of the magazine each month so authors can begin to be properly compensated for their dedication to the craft of writing.
Submissions
We focus on Sci-fi, Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, and horror. We accept submissions all year round and post new author content daily. Seven Story Magazine looks for submissions in the Dark Fantasy and Horror genres, we accept all types of dark, twisted, scary, gritty, and action packed stories. Seven Story Magazine encourages authors to abandon conventions and test the boundaries of what’s socially acceptable. Our second magazine, Wrising Writers Magazine, focuses on Sci-fi and Fantasy. This magazine is for those who write high fantasy, epic fantasy, YA, Middle Grade, and all other forms of the genre. Wrising Writers Magazine is looking for submissions that are more traditional and follow conventional troupes. However, this is not a hard and fast rule, the general consensus for submissions to Wrising Writers Magazine is that each story is unique and resonates with each author’s respective fan base.
