Slice of Life

Slice of Life is a new online journal for flash prose. We are connected to the online writing workshop, Diving Deeper, but you don’t have to be a member to submit your work. We are looking for windows into life. Although we do not publish fiction, ‘creative’ memoir or creative nonfiction is welcome. What we want is the mundane, the strange, the exciting, the horrifying. Stories that make us weep, laugh, or just sigh appreciatively. Stories that make us feel not quite so alone. We are also interested in your artwork – photographs or other images, that could be posted alongside the writing.

ONandOnScreen

ONandOnScreen is poems + videos. Here videos are linked with poems and poems with videos in a shared space, widening the spectrum and essential strangeness of each. ONandOnScreen is that conversation between moving words and moving images, on and on.

The Iowa Review

OF ZOOS is a new electronic literary journal by Singaporeans for Singaporeans, and everyone else. We publish poetry and its sub-branches. We are a "new" publication. EWR: Short Stories started publishing in the fall. The publication is on Every Writer's Resource.com a site that has been publishing for 6 years. Glimmer Train Stories

In the recent Best American Short Stories, of the top "100 distinguished short stories," six appeared in Glimmer Train Stories, second only to the New Yorker. We are pleased to say that, of those six, two were those authors' first stories accepted for publication.

The Resurrectionist

The Resurrectionist is a biannual poetry journal dedicated to modern formalist poetry. By modern we intend poetry that makes use of contemporary language and grammar, experiments with verse forms or that handles contemporary themes. 'Resurrectionist' (syn. 'Resurrection-man') is a 19th century English term for a body-snatcher whose main purpose was the resale of body parts to anatomy schools and researchers in the medical field. The application of the term for the journal is metaphoric and in direct retort to the openly stated assumption that formal verse (or metrical poetry) is a dead and/or no longer relevant art.

Best Poem: A Poetry Journal

To qualify for publication, the poet must fit one of the following criteria: a) the poem has been rejected elsewhere for publication but still the poet feels strongly about its merit, or b) the poem hasn't been submitted but is the poet's current darling, favorite or breakthrough poem.
