Founded in 1986 by Juris Jurjevics and located in the heart of New York City’s Soho neighborhood, Soho Press has grown into one of the most well-respected independent publishing houses today. With a focus on discovering new, diverse voices in literary fiction, Soho Press sets itself apart by taking chances on unconventional, experimental narratives and fresh debut authors.
While literary fiction remains the mainstay of Soho Press, the publisher has expanded into other genres such as mysteries, thrillers, and young adult fiction. No matter the style or form, Soho Press prioritizes dynamic storytelling and lyrical prose. They are always on the lookout for projects with a cinematic appeal.
Soho Press has introduced American readers to authors like Julián Herbert, Laura van den Berg, Harry Parker, and Rémy Ngamije.
